About
Rena Olson is a nature photographer whose photographs have been used extensively to promote Oregon coast conservation, citizen science, and tourism, along with gracing the walls of her clients’ homes and businesses.
A native of the PNW, Rena has a soul-deep love and reverence for the natural world. She believes the lens doesn’t capture the scene; it reveals what her heart feels in the moment.
Rena’s visual storytelling invites you to join her on a journey of exploration through the wild places, leaving no trace, but coming away with something more – the desire to preserve, respect, and protect.
Artist Statement
Photography is an integral part of who I am. It's impossible to explain how much the entire experience fills the creative soul. The soul who loves Nature beyond belief. It's the scent, the sounds, the wind, or the sun. It's the drop of dew on a leaf, or the way the light dances upon the limbs of a tree. It's a full-on, in-the-moment soul expanding joy that allows me to revel in being a tiny part of the fabric of the Universe. It's a way to share those moments of total immersion.
